AURIFIL Ornament Hop

Woohoo! It's our turn to give you all a lovely ornament to decorate your tree, or house, or workspace, or....wherever!

Don't you ADORE ornaments? I bought a little sparkly white frosted tree last year, can't wait to get it out again and splash it with colorful ornaments.

Raise your hand if you already have Christmas decorations up and holiday tunes cranked up?!

We've been running around like crazy getting our ornament ready for the blog hop. Of course we had to get a tree just to hang it on! Thankfully, we had a little help from a couple of our Aurifil friends...

LOLOLOL! That just cracks me up every time!

Okay, now you're ready to ROCK with our Aurifil ornament.

We stitched this SWEET little winter mitten!

Make sure you leave us all some fabulous comments to be entered to win some Aurifil prizes!  We'd love to hear what YOUR favorite ornament is...was it stitched? Handmade? Store bought? Given as a gift?

We would love to know!

Meanwhile, I think I need me one of these:

Just to display all of our cute Aurifil ornaments! Don't you think?

Have a Rockin' Holiday...

HG Very Merry Holiday Party - Day 7

It's OUR dayyyyyy!!

Oh yeah.  You know what THAT means?
Well if you know Lizzie B at all you know it means THIS:

Get up and BOOGIE!!
Preferably dressed in holiday garb...and a retro classic wig if you have one handy. Which you should.

Now that you've got your groove on with us, we'll share a couple of our fav's about the holiday season.

First of all, it's all about decking the halls! I save Christmas cards that are sent to us each year and use festive red ribbon to tie them on the garland going up the banister.  I LOVE to see the cards each year, new AND old.

One of Beth's fav holiday traditions is getting out her North Pole Village every year.

And of course, we both do a LOT of holiday baking!  I mean, who doesn't? Ok, if you don't, you at least BUY some yummy holiday goodies, right?

One tradition I started when my family lived in France was baking a Buche de Noel on Christmas Eve.

But honestly, what would the holiday season be without COOKIES???

I found THIS delish recipe on Pinterest last year from Tatertots and Jello, Peppermint Whoopie Pies, YUM!

For 7 of our Lizzie B favorite Holiday Cookie recipes, click *here* or type "Cookie Countdown" in the search box at the top of the blog page.

THE ultimate Christmas cookie in Lizzie B Land is a one that has been a tradition in my family since I was little. It just wasn't Christmas if my Mom didn't whip up a batch of these tasty treats.  However, they never had a name, we just referred to them as the powdery-sugar cookies...in recent years however, my sister and I named them...

And now...for the free project you've been waiting for!

A sweet Poinsettia Pincushion. Such a fun little creative gift! Fill the jar base with a little sewing kit for your quilty friends; thimble, pins, needles, small scissors.
OR...

How cute would it be filled with ribbon candy? SO festive!

Click *HERE* for the pdf download.
(of the pin cushion, not the candy! LOL.)

So how about a little Lizzie B giveaway on our bloggy day?  Leave us a comment on THIS post about your FAVORITE holiday tradition and you'll be in the drawing to win a yummy fabric bundle of our new collection, VOGUE!

Just wait until you see the Vogue eMag we're putting together filled with A-MAZING projects a very special design team has created exclusively for VOGUE! It'll be out in time for you to whip up some more fun gifty projects this holiday season.

Hand-stitched with LOVE....(and Aurifil)

So I asked my fabulous friend Roseann Kermes of Rosebud's Cottage if I could totally just copy her blog word for word and post it here.  I mean, truly, it says all that needs to be said about our upcoming Aurifil Designer Blog Hop.  So here we go....guest blogger by default, AND Aurifil designer to boot...hit it Roseann!

You can never start too soon when it comes to Christmas! And I think one of the best gifts to give is something you make with your hands and heart. There's not always time to make something big. Ornaments, though, are treasured from year to year and really speak to  your friends and family ... they're just big enough to say ... I thought of you!

With that in mind ... a bunch of the Aurifil designers have gotten together to do an ornament blog hop in November. You'll have plenty of time to choose your favorites and get stitching. Three designers each week ... check our blogs on Tuesdays for the next designs.
The fun starts on Tuesday, November 6 with Sherri Falls,Gail Pan, and Amy Ellis.
You'll have a week to stitch ... and then on November 13th there'll be new ornaments for you from ... Anna, Pat Sloan, and Emily.
November 20th brings us Victoria, the Lizzie B girls, andPam Kitty Morning. You'll have something to do on Thanksgiving weekend!
And then on November 27th, we'll finish up with Sarah,Bari J, and me!
The cool thing about these ornaments is that they are all the same size and use the same basic pattern ... the only thing that changes is the stitched design. When you're all done you'll be able to fill a small tree ... or carefully pack them in an envelope and mail to someone special. So get out your needle and thread and start crafting for Christmas. Happy Holidaze!

Thanks Roseann! Can't wait to see all the sweet designs everyone comes up with.  I happen to know that Beth spent the weekend at her cabin, cuddled up to a roaring fire stitching the Lizzie B ornament....can't wait to share it with you all!
